Living Collection Assistant – Aviculture

WWT Slimbridge Wetland Centre

37.5 hours per week working 5 days from 7 to include weekends and bank holidays

£18,745 per annum

WWT Slimbridge is seeking an enthusiastic and engaging Living Collection Assistant to help support our Aviculture team as we take our next step forward. We have recently opened multiple new exhibits enabling us to tell our vital conservation stories, and are looking to continue with new developments in the future.

We are seeking a candidate who can work well in a team, embrace change and support in the delivery of our new collection plan. You will work as part of the Living Collections team with a vast diversity of wetland bird species. Duties will range from feeding, to observing and reporting, to breeding and rearing.

The ideal candidate will have a Foundation Degree or HND in a relevant subject or equivalent experience of working within the animal industry, preferably with birds. You will understand how to work to best practice guidance within animal care and also be able to demonstrate the ability to carry out countryside management work.
