Marine Mammal Veterinarian

An exciting opportunity to work in the lead park in Turkey, Antalya. Waterfront Kingdom by The Land of Legends is opening the position for a Marine Mammal Veterinarian to take care of the animal collection.

Requirements:

Veterinarian must successfully graduate with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited program and University.

Must At least have 4 years experience as a Marine mammal veterianrian.

General responsibilities:

Conducting surgical procedures
Giving regular exams
Administering vaccinations
Determining treatment plans
Prescribing and administering medications
Treating wounds or injuries
Collecting tissue and blood samples
Observing behavior
Taking and interpreting X-rays and Ultrasounds
Responding to emergencies
Supervising other members of the veterinary team
Educating others about marine life
Maintaining records of treatments and care history

Physical stamina: The ability to handle animals of all shapes and sizes

Technical proficiency: The ability to use medical equipment such as ultrasound machines, as well as computers to analyze medical images and access electronic databases
Observant: The ability to recognize symptoms that may not be readily obvious
Patience: The ability to keep calm in stressful situations and treat animals with care
Written and verbal communication skills: The ability to clearly write information on reports and patient records, as well as share information with colleagues to solve problems with animals
