Al Ain Zoo is seeking an experienced, motivated, hardworking Bird Trainer to work with a dedicated team of Keepers within the Bird Training Section
This position offers an excellent opportunity to work with a wide range of bird species including birds of prey, parrots and owls in the largest Zoo in the Middle East. Al Ain Zoo is a 1000 hectare wildlife experience with a focus on arid land wildlife conservation, education, animal management, veterinary care and visitor experience.

 It has over 200 species of animal consisting of more than 3800 specimens displayed in extensive landscaped habitats and a 53 hectare African Wildlife Safari.

The Role:
The Bird Trainer is responsible for the day to day aspects of the bird collection at the Bird Training Centre to assist in organizing public bird shows, educational demonstrations and bird training. All duties assigned should be undertaken with a positive attitude that reflects Al Ain Zoo’s mission and vision of connecting people to wildlife and conservation. The position is a member of the bird training staff and reports directly to the Supervisor of Bird Training.

The position is full time, working 5 days per week and will include weekends and public holidays. Applicants should be physically fit, able to work outdoors in challenging conditions and be culturally sensitive.

Qualifications & Experience:
Education, training and experience that clearly demonstrates the knowledge and skills required. A minimum of four years’ experience as a bird trainer at a comparable organization.
