Supervisor of
Carnivores

Al Ain Zoo is
seeking an experienced, motivated, hardworking Carnivore Supervisor to lead a
dedicated team of Senior Keepers and Keepers within the Carnivore section
This position offers
an excellent opportunity to work with a wide range of carnivore species in
extensive habitat displays in the largest Zoo in the Middle East. Al Ain Zoo is
a 1000 hectare wildlife experience with a focus on arid land wildlife conservation,
education, animal management, veterinary care and visitor experience.
It has over 200 species of animal consisting
of more than 3800 specimens displayed in extensive landscaped habitats and a 53
hectare African Wildlife Safari.
The Role:
The Supervisor of
Carnivores is responsible for the daily supervision of the section including
staff management, setting routine daily procedures, applying enrichment plans,
undertaking husbandry procedures, maintaining and updating Standard Operating
Procedures, record keeping on ZIMS and maintaining a safe working environment.
The position is full
time, working 5 days per week and will include weekends and public holidays.
Applicants should be physically fit, able to work outdoors in challenging
conditions and be culturally sensitive.
Qualifications & Experience:
A Bachelor Degree in
Zoology, Animal Science, Veterinary Science or a related field is desirable
with a minimum of 7 years of relevant working experience.
