Assistant Animal Trainer and Presenter

 

Wild Discovery

 

Wild Discovery is a small zoo that is growing and expanding.  We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our small team to care for a range of animals and support the Animal Trainer with the delivery of training plans, presenting daily shows, animal encounters/experiences and educational talks.

The successful candidate must be passionate and self-motivated, with at least 2 years’ experience working within a zoo environment with a variety of species.  You must have proven experience with presenting bird flying displays to the public, training plans and educational talks.  The role will also include animal care duties, therefore experience of providing high standards of husbandry to a range of species is also required.

Successful candidates will be required to deliver a short presentation as part of their interview, details of this will be given to those invited for an interview.

This is a full-time position with an immediate start.  The successful candidate will work on a rota basis, including weekends, bank holidays and occasional evenings, therefore flexibility is essential.
