Position           - Chief Operation Officer

Working Days   - Monday to Friday

Working Hours  - 9:00 Am to 5:30 Pm

Business Unit    - Zoos & Gardens Business Unit

Working Place  - Kan Road, Mingalar Taungnyunt Township, 11222, Yangon

Purpose of Job

·      To manage and oversee day to day operations of Htoo Zoos and Garden BU at the following Zoos and Parks:

-       Yangon Zoo

-       Hlawgar Park/Zoo

-       Mandalay Zoo

-       NPT Zoo/Safari/Planetarium

-       Kandawgyi Gardens/ Landmark

·      To assist CEO in management process and implementation

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities

·      Helping in developing strategy, policy and direction for the business unit

·      Develops strategic plan by studying technological and financial opportunities; presenting assumptions; recommending objectives

·      Overseeing all operations and activities to ensure they produce the desired results and are consistent with managerial team

·      Animal enrichment program development & oversee it implementation

·      Maintain current information on all Zoos regulations and permits pertaining to animal welfare, wildlife conservation and public safety.

·      Responsible for the entire animal collection, their care, wellbeing and health

·      Establish policies and procedures for maintenance of animal records, transport and health programs, including animal handling, capture, restraint, testing and medication administration.

·      Develop and prepare the annual preliminary budget for areas of responsibility analyze and review budgetary and financial data assist in monitoring revenues and expenses in compliance with the current Zoos Board approved budget.

·      Leading developments projects, tasks planned by CEO

·      Communicating with MOECAF and Region and State Governments

·      Check standard operations procedures of all Zoos, monitor and manage administrators of all zoos and parks and report to CEO

·      Check reports from each branch and report to CEO

·      Implementing tasks that are directed by CEO

·      Accomplishes subsidiary objectives by establishing plan, budgets, and results measurements; allocating resources; reviewing progress; making mid-course corrections

·      Increases management’s effectiveness by recruiting, selecting, orientation, training, coaching, counselling, and disciplining managers

·      Builds association image by collaborating with customers, government, community organizations, and employees; enforcing ethical practices

·      Make high-quality investing decisions to advance to association and increase profits

·      Report progresses, problems and budgets of BU to CEO

Experience Required:

·      Bachelor’s degree (Master degree preferable)

·      Must have proven management experience in zoos and parks management/ Animal Husbandry/ Animals Welfare for minimum 8 years
