Knowsley Safari Park
is the largest safari park in the UK and in 2014 was named the highest rated
Safari Park in the UK in Trip Advisor’s Travellers’ Choice awards for Zoos and
Aquariums. We are recruiting for a deputy for the Carnivore/Antelope team. We
are looking for an enthusiastic candidate that can assist in developing and
delivering high standards of animal care as well as proactively supervise and
manage team members, contributing to the progression of the Park. Amongst other
carnivore species, this section hosts our magnificent pride of lions in a drive
through setting. Apart from carnivore species, this section also encompasses a
wide range of hoof stock species.
The successful
candidate will have sound knowledge of animal husbandry. They will be flexible,
experienced, proactive, and have a strong team mentality to achieve the team’s
objectives. Previous experience of managing people, and working with exotic
animal species along with experience of positive reinforcement techniques would
be advantageous.
This is a full time,
permanent position (average 40 hour working week) which will include bank
holidays and weekends on a rotated basis, providing one weekend off every
three. The position comes with a salary of up to £19,500 depending upon
suitability and experience as well as 23 days holidays each year plus 8 days in
lieu of bank holidays and a generous pension scheme. Continuous professional development is
encouraged and the company will provide the tools to accomplish this.
Due to the position
of the park your own transport is essential.
