Salary: £18,022 -
£20,040 per annum, pro rata (A21-A24)
Our £4 million
Animal Management Centre opened in 2010 and offers world class facilities
including rooms for reptiles, amphibians and fish, a mammal hose, teaching and
meeting rooms and an impressive entrance to the college’s zoo. We have 40
specialist staff over 800 students and more than 1000 animals of around 200
species.
Due to Reaseheath
College’s continued expansion an exciting opportunity has arisen for a
Keeper/Instructor in Aquatics to join our hard working and dynamic
Keeper/Instructor team.
You will have at
least 3 years’ experience within the aquatics industry including working with
large life support systems. A wider range of knowledge covering reptiles,
amphibians, mammals and birds would be beneficial. The successful applicant
will possess a vocational qualification in Animal Management or Equivalent
discipline at Level 3 or above and a wide ranging experience of animal
husbandry in both domestic and zoo animals.
The role will
include supervising students, conducting radical sessions, doing assessments
and ensuring relevant paperwork is completed on time and supporting lecturing
staff in providing a high quality, effective.
Weekend work and
bank holiday work will be necessary as required.

Please note this
role constitutes ‘regulated activity’ as defined by the Protection of Freedom
Act 2012. The successful candidate will therefore be required to undertake an
enhanced DBS check with barred list information prior to starting employment.
This will be paid for by the College.
