Veterinary Nurse

Veterinary Nurse

Join our vibrant organisation!

As an action oriented conservation charity, Marwell Wildlife’s desire is to connect people with nature. Through enthusing people about the wonders of the natural world we’re certain they’ll share our passion to conserve it. Our success relies on two key things. The impression we create through our 140 acre zoological park, Marwell Zoo, with its wide array of exotic and endangered species and the family of talented people we employ who share our passion and bring our vision to life.

We are looking for a full time Veterinary Nurse that will assist in the delivery of veterinary services at Marwell Wildlife. Marwell has a well-equipped veterinary hospital including remote-chemical immobilisation and field anaesthesia equipment, digital radiography, portable ultrasound, rigid and flexible endoscopy and laboratory facilities.

This post will focus principally on supporting the zoo veterinarians and our current vet nurse in delivering the preventative health care programme, whilst providing day-to-day care for the animals in the collection. In addition the candidate will facilitate animal transfers, coordinate student placements and assist with the management of the veterinary practice at Marwell. We operate to the highest standards of welfare and the veterinary nurse role will support this.

Applicants must be a Registered Veterinary Nurse and have a demonstrable interest and commitment to animal welfare and conservation. Due to the need to drive park vehicles applicants must hold a full driver’s licence valid for the UK.

If you would like to join our unique and vibrant organisation and become part of our Marwell Family, please visit our website, for a full candidate brief and to submit your CV and covering letter.

Closing date: 10th February 2017

Successful applicants for vacancies with Marwell Wildlife may be required to have a DBS check as a condition of employment.

Marwell Wildlife is an equal opportunities employer.
