Senior Animal Keeper – Carnivores
Join our vibrant
organisation
As an
action oriented conservation charity, Marwell Wildlife’s desire is to connect
people with nature. Through enthusing people about the wonders of the natural
world we’re certain they’ll share our passion to conserve it. Our success
relies on two key things. The impression we create through our 140 acre
zoological park, Marwell Zoo, with its wide array of exotic and endangered
species and the family of talented people we employ who share our passion and
bring our vision to life.
A full time opportunity has arisen to join
our Animal Management Team as a Senior Animal Keeper on our Carnivores section.
We’re looking for candidates with a good understanding
of carnivore species’ biology,
natural history, husbandry & welfare. We have exciting plans for our
collection and exhibits, offering great opportunities for creative project and
team work with a focus on animal behavior, nutrition and enrichment. This post
offers a fantastic opportunity to work with our extensive carnivore collection including species
such as Amur tigers, Amur leopards, snow leopards, otters and mongoose.
The successful candidate will have specialist
taxonomic knowledge and experience in carnivore
species with a minimum Level 3 (ANC / DMZAA) or equivalent qualification in
animal management or biological sciences. In return we will offer you support,
training and continued professional development, not to mention a fantastic
working environment! You can also expect free entry to the park and great event
discounts.
Accommodation may be available on a short term basis
to the successful candidate. Please note this would incur a rental cost. Due to
the need to drive park vehicles, candidates must also hold a full driving license
valid for the UK.
If you would like
to join our unique and vibrant organisation and become part of our Marwell
Family, please visit our website, marwell.org.uk for a full candidate brief and
