Reaseheath College

Permanent, Full time x 2 posts

Part time, 18.5 hours per week x 1 post

Salary: £24,582 - £33,897 per annum, pro-rata if applicable

Reaseheath College’s state-of-the-art Animal Centre and Zoo have won national recognition for excellence – as have our courses that deliver the very best animal science education. Following a £4 million upgrade of our Animal Centre, in addition to a further £30 million investment across the campus, we boast an exceptional range of world-class facilities, as well as a team of teaching staff who are genuinely passionate about supporting every student to reach their full potential. Additionally, Reaseheath College has recently been awarded University Centre status, which is reflected in the growth of delivery and specialist land-based provision working alongside our partner institution, the University of Chester.

Due to continued growth in student numbers we are currently looking to appoint additional  Lecturer/Course Managers to work within the Faculty of Higher Education, who can make a substantial contribution to the delivery and administration of our suite of animal-based undergraduate degree programmes. The successful candidates should expect to deliver a wide remit, but principally may include themes in wildlife conservation, animal behaviour and/or applied animal management. They will complete the administration for their modules and deliver formal lectures, practicals, tutorials and seminars, in addition to undertaking final year honours project supervision. They will also implement quality assurance processes and develop new curriculum content that keeps us at the forefront of this evolving discipline.

The successful candidates will hold a higher degree (minimum of Level 7) in biological sciences or related discipline, and ideally have prior teaching experience within the Higher Education sector. In addition, they will have completed, or be working towards completing, a nationally recognised teaching qualification and accreditation with the Higher Education Academy. Formal training will be provided to any successful candidate that does not possess a teaching qualification.

Applications are welcomed from passionate and enthusiastic individuals committed to providing our learners with a high quality experience. You will be able to utilise your knowledge and experience of the discipline in providing a wealth of learning opportunities for our undergraduate students. Good team working and communication skills are key attributes within this dynamic team.
