Zoomarine -
oceanographic park located in Guia (Albufeira), is looking for a collaborator
for the Marine Mammal Rehabilitation Center.
The function consists of the daily provision
of health care, food and hygiene to the animals that are hosted at the
Rehabilitation Center.
The tasks to be
performed consist of direct contact, feeding and handling wild specimens, daily
cleaning and disinfection of spaces and equipment; cleaning and maintenance of
swimming pools and water quality, contact and handling of chemical and pharmacological
products, travel to various locations in the event of striking, including
travel by sea vessels.
Profile of the candidate:
- Degree in Marine
Biology or Zootechnical Engineering
- Good knowledge of
Portuguese and English (oral and written)
- Computer knowledge
from the user's perspective
- Good physical
condition
- Know how to swim
and dive
- Outgoing, with
easy communication in public and good interpersonal relationship
- Ability to work
individually and in groups, in a multi-tasking regime
- Ability to respond
in situations of stress, technical difficulties and / or emergency, with
integrity and serenity
- Ability to observe
and pay attention to details
- Respect for
schedules, deadlines and safety standards
- Driving license
and own transport
- Full and immediate
availability
Preferential Requirements:
- 500 hours of
experience in handling non-domestic animals
- Diving course
- DIY knowledge
- Letters of
recommendation (as a volunteer or professional handling wild animals)
