Project Manager

                Project Manager

Join our vibrant organisation!

As an action oriented conservation charity, Marwell Wildlife’s desire is to connect people with nature. Through enthusing people about the wonders of the natural world we’re certain they’ll share our passion to conserve it. Our success relies on two key things. The impression we create through our 140 acre zoological park, Marwell Zoo, with its wide array of exotic and endangered species and the family of talented people we employ who share our passion and bring our vision to life.

An exciting opportunity for a Project Manager has arisen as Marwell embarks on an inspiring programme of work, incorporating a series of major exhibits in accordance with our master plan. The purpose of this new role is to manage a variety of building projects from conception to completion, alongside our current Project Manager. Such projects will range in size and budget, from multi-million pound new animal exhibit builds to smaller scale guest facilities. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Working with and co-ordinating Marwell Project teams and external contractors
  • Developing design briefs and reporting on tenders to the Executive Team, ensuring appropriate sign off
  • Inspection of project sites before, during and after completion, providing technical advice as required

The successful candidate will have previous experience of working within a similar role, to include experience in the following areas:

  • budget management
  • CDM and ISO 14001
  • adherence to relevant construction regulations and compliance with Health & Safety provisions
·
Reporting to the Finance Director, this role requires strong communication and IT skills, together with experience of financial reporting. Applicants must be able to build and maintain excellent relationships with existing departments and ensure minimum disruption to our park and guests throughout. Experience of using CAD and a Project Management qualification such as Prince2 or equivalent would also be advantageous.

If you would like to join our unique and vibrant organisation and become part of our Marwell Family, please visit our website, www.marwell.org.uk for a full candidate brief and our electronic application form. This application form must be completed for you to be considered for this role.

Closing Date: Thursday 13th March 2014

Successful applicants for vacancies with Marwell Wildlife may be required to have a DBS check as a condition of employment.

Project Manager - Rainforest Conservation

On behalf of the board of PhilinCon (Philippine Initiative for Conservation of Environment and the People, Inc.) I send the following message to this list, hoping that someone can help. PhilinCon´s rainforest conservation project PanayCon has lost its local project manager and is in urgent need of a new one. The project is operating
successfully since 1995, see web pages below. As the recent flood disaster on Mindanao with many dead and homeless people has shown, deforestation in the Philippines threatens both humans and ecosystems, with an increasingly pressing need to save the last intact forest remnants like the Panay lowland rainforest as a genetic resource for reforestation.

A salary is to be sourced as soon as a suitable manager has been found.

Start date: as soon as possible

Website for the PanayCon project: see http://www.panaycon.org/

Website for our umbrella NGO PhilinCon: see http://www.philincon.org/

A PDF leaflet with job description / Terms of Reference can be
downloaded here:
