If you are aged between 17 – 19 (but you could be older!) have finished your exams and are keen to enter the world of work but want to increase your qualifications, then joining the Apprenticeship Programme at Moulton College could be the answer!
At Moulton College we know that talented apprentices are ambitious; can help our business grow and become more effective, productive and competitive. That’s why we are recruiting apprentices who will join our business, to train and work in our Animal Welfare Centre. We know that the specialised ‘on the job’ training we will provide will mean you will benefit directly from the skills and experience of our staff whilst working towards national qualifications.

You will have a minimum of 5 GCSE’s (or equivalent) at grades A* - C (including Maths and English Language). In addition you will have good IT skills with knowledge of a range of different computer packages (Word, Excel etc).  Applicants will be well organised, have the ability to work to deadlines and demonstrate good customer services skills.

You will have the ability to work both individually and as an effective team member, combined with the enthusiasm and initiative to take on project work as required.

Candidates with A levels (or equivalent) are welcome to apply.

Twycross Zoo – East Midland Zoological Society (TZEMS), the World Primate Centre, has over 1,000 animals and is the most comprehensive collection of primate species and subspecies in the western world. We have exciting plans for developing the Zoo further, continuing our work in conservation of endangered species and providing the very best environment that we can.

A position has become available for a Modern Apprentice in our Animal Keeping Department. You will already be working towards an appropriate animal related qualification, having successfully completed your first year of study. Your application will have the support and approval of your college tutor and you will be expected to complete your qualification within the length of the apprenticeship, which will commence in September 2011 and last for a period of 12 months

The successful applicant will assist on various sections in the Zoo, ensuring that animal keeping is carried out to our required standards on a day-to-day basis. You will shadow keepers and work under supervision at all times.

The role is full time, including weekends on a rota system. The position is monthly paid and we provide uniform, 31 days holiday, 5% employer’s pension contribution.
