This person will
work on a management team with two other Zoological Managers and report to the
Animal Operations Manager Disney's Animal Kingdom.
Responsibilities Primary
responsibility is the day-to-day leadership and supervision of salaried
frontline animal keepers and hourly keeper associates. Assist in all aspects of
managing the animal collection at Disney's Animal Kingdom Savanna team. Assist
with animal acquisition, husbandry programs, daily maintenance, animal
enrichment, behavior modification, exhibit design, staff selection and
development. Ensures the delivery of a quality Guest experience. Partner with
operations, maintenance, research, veterinary, education and horticulture
departments.
Basic
Qualifications
- Nine years combined
animal management and post-high school education with at least five years of
animal management experience at an AZA accredited or equivalent facility.
- Demonstrated
experience in the management of specific animals.
- Demonstrated strong
verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated strong
organizational skills.
- Demonstrated
leadership ability.
Preferred
Qualifications
- Supervisory
experience.
- Experience managing
African ungulates and birds in mixed species habitats.
- Experience with
structured guest experience and special event coordination.

- Associates or
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
