An exciting opportunity has arisen at Knowsley Safari for an Administrative Assistant to join our Animal Team. You will be required to provide administration support in an effective and efficient manner to the Head of the Animal Division and Animal Managers, as well as the Animal Division as a whole including Team Leaders and Animal Keepers.

We are looking for someone who has strong computer skills including Microsoft Office with experience in an administrative capacity. The successful individual will need to be methodical, organised with good communication and interpersonal skills and able to work independently, setting their own priorities.

Responsibilities include:
•        Telephone calls, messages and correspondence;
•        Organising, filing and storing highly confidential paperwork, documents and computer-based information;
•        Ensuring that weekly reports, maintenance sheets and uniform order forms are available for colleagues;
•        Maintaining scheduling and events calendars;
•        Minute taking and distribution;
•        Organising and recording all orders, returns and repairs;
•        Assisting Team Leaders in typing up all RA’s SWP’s, ensuring that they are available to be accessed annually and altered accordingly;
•        Administration for animal transports;
•        Supporting HR with administration for Student Keepers and Veterinary Interns.

We are looking for a confident, enthusiastic Administration Assistant to provide all aspects of day to day education department administration for Newquay Zoo and Living Coasts, based at the Paignton Zoo Education Centre. 

The successful candidate will receive and process bookings from schools, further and higher education institutions and wider community groups, answer the phone and manage diary systems, alongside general administrative tasks.  They will also cover administration of Paignton Zoo’s Education Centre, in Education Office Supervisor’s absence.

Applicants should possess at least 2 years’ experience in a similar post and have good communication, organisational and ICT skills.  They will also be a team player, flexible and capable of working on their own initiative.  An interest in environmental conservation would be an advantage.

This is a part-time post for 25 hours per week and the rate of pay is £7.00 per hour.  Occasional weekend and Bank Holiday work will be required.

Taronga Conservation Society Australia currently has a vacancy for a temporary full-time Administrative Assistant (Executive Support), based at Taronga Western Plains Zoo (TWPZ), Dubbo.

This exciting position will allow the successful candidate to work within an incredibly unique and rewarding work environment. The position plays a key administrative support role to the General Manager and the TWPZ management team, assisting with the delivery of the zoo’s strategic plan objectives.

To be successful in this role you will require:

• Demonstrated experience in a executive administrative support role including diary management, taking minutes, co-ordinating key stakeholders and responding to enquiries;

• Effective customer service skills, and adaptability and flexibility to accommodate change and provide responsive services to meet customer needs;

• Strong planning and organisational skills with a demonstrated ability to work as part of a team effectively, prioritise, and meet established timeframes;

• Ability to act proactively, use initiative and work independently;

• Well developed verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills, including a proven ability to establish effective working relations;

• Experience dealing with sensitive and confidential matters;

• Experience establishing and effectively managing filing systems – both paper based and electronic;

• Experience using a range of computer software packages, in particular MS Office applications.
