The Iberian Lynx National Breeding Centre (CNRLI)

The Iberian Lynx National Breeding Centre (CNRLI)

++ Unpaid opportunity ++

(with accommodation and food stipend)

The Iberian Lynx National Breeding Centre (CNRLI) volunteer programme has 4 open vacancies for the beginning of August of this year, with the duration of 3 months. The Centre is located in Silves, Portugal, and the volunteers will integrate the Ethology and video surveillance team of the CNRLI.

The volunteering occurs within the field of Ethology and Animal Behaviour and all the volunteers will have specialized training and lectures on this subject.

We are seeking motivated people, ideally with a background in the Natural Sciences field and high interest in volunteering at CNRLI during this important period for the small cubs born in April. During this phase, the cubs will go through a process of “Reintroduction Training”, where specialized techniques will be used for the stimulation and evaluation of hunting and human evasion behaviours, competences that will be essential for their survival when they are released in the wild.

Housing will be provided (for free) and European volunteers may receive a food stipend of 4,77 € for each worked day. For those who aren’t Portuguese, fluency in English or Spanish is required (both written and spoken).

For more information and/or application, you can send your CV to cnrli.voluntarios@gmail.com

Volunteers - Iberian Lynx Reproduction Center

VOLUNTEER AT CNRLI

NOVEMBER TO JANUARY

3 vacancies for an integrated volunteer position with CNRLI's ethology and surveillance team.

The volunteer program for the Iberian Lynx Reproduction Center (CNRLI) in Silves is again open and takes 3 spots for a volunteer position integrated into CNRLI's ethology and video surveillance team, with a minimum duration of 3 months, referring to the period from November to January 2021.

Volunteering takes place in the area of Animal Ethology and Animal Behavior and all volunteers will be trained in this field, adapted to CNRLI's operation and animals. We are looking for motivated and ideally trained people in natural science areas who are interested in working voluntarily at CNRLI in this interesting stage of breeding season.

Preparations for union of reproductive couples, peer follow-up, cios detection and copulation evaluation will be made during this period. Simultaneously, follow-up and record of data from the breeding season's breeding training will be carried out, which is essential to preparing their release into the wilderness.

Accommodation during this period will be done (free of charge) at CNRLI premises, with the possibility of receiving food allowance of 4,27 for each working day.
