We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Keeper to join our Twilight team on a full time basis. For the right candidate, this post offers a fantastic opportunity to work with one of the largest ex situ breeding groups of Rodrigues fruit bats, as well as many other exciting species on the section from Sengi to Capybara.

Chester Zoo aims to set a benchmark for animal welfare and the successful candidate must be able to deliver an excellent level of animal husbandry, care and welfare for the assigned mammals; ensuring that all enclosures and facilities are maintained to the highest possible standards. 
The role will involve delivering personalised animal experiences to small groups of visitors in both public zoo spaces, behind the scenes and in animal enclosures. These encounters generate revenue for the zoo, and so guests are hosted to the highest standards of customer care and service in accordance with risk assessments, Health and Safety regulations and animal welfare.
The successful candidate will have:
•        A HND or degree level qualification in a zoological related science or equivalent experience
•        Proven experience in the care and management of a wide variety of mammal species, as well as the highest standards of exhibtry
•        Outstanding observational skills with an excellent attention to detail
•        Experience implementing environmental enrichment and working within strict Safe Working Practices
•        Experience of implementing guest experiences to a very high standard
•        A full driving licence valid in the UK

Competency in the use of computers and basic software packages, including ZIMS software, would be advantageous for this role in order to maintain accurate records. 

Hours of work are 40 hours per week, worked 10 days out of 14, including weekends and Bank Holidays as rostered.

FULL TIME ANIMAL KEEPER: Large mammals Department.

Blair Drummond Safari and Adventure Park is situated in Scotland midway between Glasgow and Edinburgh just 4 miles from Stirling.

We are seeking to employ a full time animal keeper to work within our Large Mammals Department which includes Elephants, Rhino, Giraffes and Zebra.

The successful applicant will be qualified in a zoological science field to HND level or above or have an industry recognised qualification or apprenticeship. At least one year’s experience of working in a similar environment is required.

Working within a small dedicated team of keepers you will share a passion for improving animal welfare and public awareness of species within a captive habitat. The role will involve many different and challenging tasks ranging from daily husbandry and animal training through to public talks.
A full clean driving licence is required.

FULL-TIME KEEPER: Reptile Keeper (Native Fauna Team)


Zoos South Australia is in a phase of new organisational restructure and conservation vision. A key driver in this structure has been to highlight the important role that native species play in supporting our vision. This position is to be based at Adelaide Zoo, within the Native Fauna Team. This team comprises of a dedicated bird section, native mammal section and reptile section.

We currently have a need for an experienced reptile keeper, with advanced venomous handling skills. Having experience working within other recognized Zoological institutions is essential. The applicant will play a vital role in development of the reptile section, providing training to staff, assisting with collection development, and exhibit design. The team supports various conservation programs, in-situ and ex-situ, and there is a potential for all staff to become involved in field work to support these programmes. Experience working in the field will be advantageous.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the daily operations and husbandry aspects of the collection within the reptile section. The applicant must also have the ability to work well in a team, have excellent communication skills and the ability to deliver public presentations.
