Salary:           £17,391 to £19,808 per annum


Hours:                       Full time - 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year (1FTE)

Locations:    Hadlow


We are looking to recruit two new self-motivated Technical Instructors to work with our Animal Management team, providing support and technical assistance to the teaching staff at our Hadlow campus.  You will be required to give practical demonstrations and technical instruction in varying aspects of animal care to our students.  The successful candidates will work as part of a small team responsible for the care of the College animals and help to develop the collection under guidance from the Animal Unit Manager.

The ability to communicate effectively is essential for this role, along with substantial relevant practical experience in a range of animal care activities. Some knowledge and experience with aquatic species would also be an advantage. As well as being a genuine team worker and ideally with teaching and demonstrating experience, candidates will need to show proof of a minimum Level 2 qualification or equivalent in English and maths. Qualifications A1/A2 (D32/D33) would also be an advantage.  

You will be required to work early mornings and weekends. You will also be expected to work on Bank Holidays on a rota basis.

The successful candidates will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and provide proof of their right to work in the UK. A prohibition check will be carried where applicable.

As well as a contributory pension scheme, salary sacrifice scheme and free car parking, this post also attracts 30 days’ holiday per annum, (pro rata), excluding bank holidays.

Locations:      Mottingham

We are looking to recruit a new self-motivated Technical Instructor to work with our Animal Management team, providing support and technical assistance to the teaching staff at our Mottingham campus.  You will be required to give practical demonstrations and technical instruction in varying aspects of animal care to our students.  The successful candidate will work as part of a small team responsible for the care of the College animals and help to develop the collection under guidance from the Animal Unit Manager.


The ability to communicate effectively is essential for this role, along with substantial relevant practical experience in a range of animal care activities. Some experience in aquatics and small mammals would also be an advantage. As well as being a genuine team worker and ideally with teaching and demonstrating experience, candidates will need to show proof of a minimum Level 2 qualification or equivalent in English and maths. Qualifications A1/A2 (D32/D33) would also be an advantage. Due to the nature of the role it is desirable for candidates to hold a Full clean UK driving license so that college vehicles can be driven when required.

You will be required to work early mornings and weekends. You will also be expected to work on Bank Holidays on a rota basis.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and provide proof of their right to work in the UK. A prohibition check will be carried where applicable.

The ability to communicate effectively is essential for this role, along with substantial relevant practical experience in a range of animal care activities, plus experience and/or interest in facilitating research projects. Some experience in aquatics and small mammals would also be an advantage. As well as being a genuine team worker and ideally with teaching and demonstrating experience, candidates will need to show proof of a minimum Level 2 qualification or equivalent in English and maths. Qualifications A1/A2 (D32/D33) would also be an advantage.    

There are both full time and part time posts available (full time is 37 hours per week) including early mornings and weekends. You will also be expected to work on Bank Holidays.

Salary:            £23,903 to £32,157 per annum (pro rata for part time)
(Outer London weighting available for Mottingham - £1,393pa, pro rata)

 Locations:    Hadlow and Mottingham

We have some exciting opportunities for General Animal Management Lecturers to join the current teams at the Hadlow and Mottingham Campuses, delivering a range of animal management courses to both Further and Higher Education students.

The successful candidates will need practical experience in an animal care industry plus teaching experience in a practical and/or classroom setting.  A keen interest in a wide range of animal related subjects is essential, as is a qualification in an animal related subject. There are also opportunities for those with a vet nursing background, to support our veterinary nursing students. In addition to the minimum requirements detailed above, candidates will also need a teaching qualification.

Applicants must show proof of a minimum Level 2 or equivalent in maths and English. Excellent communication, team work and IT skills are a must.  Experience delivering Animal Behaviour and related subjects at Higher Education level would be advantageous. Qualifications Certificates in Assessing Vocational Achievement and A1/A2 (or D32 and D33) would also be advantageous.

In addition to the minimum requirements detailed above, candidates will also need a teaching qualification or the willingness to work towards one. Support is given to those who wish to train and as they work for the qualification, staff will receive a bonus of £600.00 in the third year and £750.00 in their fourth year, providing they have successfully gained their full teaching qualification at Hadlow College.

As well as a contributory pension scheme, health cash plan, salary sacrifice scheme and free car parking, these posts also attract 35 days holiday each year, pro rata for part time (excluding bank holidays).

The successful candidates will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check and provide proof of their right to work in the UK. Where applicable, a prohibition check will be carried out.

Salary:             £28,970 to £32,157 per annum
Hours:         37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year    
Locations:     Hadlow College
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our passionate, experienced and highly professional team in leading the continued development of our animal resources across all 3 of our sites. This will involve the development of commercial opportunities at all three sites, assisting in developing students’ employability skills and driving forward further developments on each of the animal management units, including holding public events and working with industry partners to develop commercial opportunities.
The role will include the line management of three animal unit managers, offering them support in the line management of our wider team of dedicated staff and therefore previous line management experience is essential, as is a relevant animal related qualification and the ability to communicate effectively and credibly with industrial, educational and professional contacts, including staff and students, at all levels.
The successful candidate must have proven experience working in an educational setting as some teaching is required as part of this role. It is therefore a requirement of the role that the successful candidate holds or is willing to work towards a recognised teaching qualification. The College will support new unqualified lecturers with a reduced teaching commitment in their first year. Those staff will receive a bonus of £600.00 in the third year and £750.00 in their fourth year providing they have successfully gained their full teaching qualification at Hadlow College.
As well as a contributory pension scheme, health cash plan, corporate gym membership and free car parking, this post also attracts six weeks holiday each year (excluding bank holidays).
