Here at All Things Wild Nature Centre we are currently in our next phase of development with exciting times ahead. As the zoo expands, so does the need for new keepers to join our zoo keeper team.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for the need of a full time animal keeper to work 5 days a week including bank holidays and weekends. The successful applicant will have a keen passion for the natural world and conservation. A good eye for detail and high standards for animal husbandry are a must.

Other key requirements:
•        Previous experience working in a zoological facility is essential. A comprehensive induction programme will be offered.
•        The DMZAA animal course is advantageous but not necessary.
•        Must have a can do attitude.
•        Strong verbal communication skills and good customer care skills as she/he will be delivering animal presentations/talks to our visitors.
•        An excellent time keeper.
•        Work well as part of a team.
•        A full UK driving license is essential.

As part of the interview you are required to present a short talk about an animal at All things wild. The presentation should be appropriate for family groups.

Keeper/Presenter



Keeper/Presenter
Part time – 3 – 4 days per week
Fixed Term Contract – 12 months

Tropical Wings Zoo is one of the best interactive zoo attractions in Essex.  We pride ourselves on providing a unique butterfly and animal experience with fun for all age groups.

We are currently looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Keeper/Presenter who has a lifelong passion for all animals.

Main Duties
•        General animal husbandry duties performed to very high standards.
•        Daily encounters requiring good presentation skills.
•        The ability to interact with visitors of all ages.
This interesting and demanding job includes working Bank Holidays and other weekend days if we have special events planned.
Educated to degree level would be desirable but previous animal husbandry experience within a zoological or animal collection is essential. 
Excellent communication skills are required for this role as you will be engaging and presenting to the general public, children and/or young people.

•        Must have a can do attitude.
•        Strong verbal communication skills as she/he will be delivering animal presentations/talks to our visitors.
•        An excellent time keeper.
•        Work well as part of a team.
