LOWER VERTEBRATES & INVERTEBRATES





Chester Zoo is one of the leading zoological collections in Europe with an international reputation for achieving its mission in conservation, research and education.

We currently have a vacancy for a Team Leader to join a busy and diverse section committed to advancing all aspects of zoo-based herpetological practice.

The successful candidate must have a proven track record in the successful management, exhibition and reproduction of a diverse reptile and amphibian collection in a zoological or conservation setting. They must have previous experience of managing a team and practical conservation/research and scientific writing skills would be an advantage. They will be qualified to BSc level or higher, in a biological related science, or have equivalent practical experience. They will have a commitment to developing the ex situ and in situ research and conservation activities of the department.

Salary is £22,988.16 increasing to £25,542.40 after satisfactory completion of the 6 month probationary period.

Min 3yrs dedicated primate experience, ANCMZA or higher.
To manage a varied primate section. Species include Mandrill, Lar Gibbon, Lemurs, Tamarins, Marmosets and Capuchins. A good communicator and a team player with maintenance skills and a practical ability.
