An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent, full time Animal Keeper to join this expanding, successful and highly motivated team. This is an exciting time to join the Animal, Equine and Veterinary Nursing Department at Eccles Sixth Form College, as we expand our already extensive animal collection and move towards full zoo accreditation. The successful applicant will have knowledge and experience of practical husbandry, health and welfare of a range of taxa. You will be responsible for the day to day care for all of the animals at Eccles Sixth Form College, with a responsibility for the lower vertebrate and invertebrate section. Candidates should have extensive knowledge and a minimum of 2 years’ experience of working within a zoological collection. The ideal candidate will have experience of working with a range of reptile, amphibian, terrestrial invertebrate, marine invertebrate and fish species, including knowledge of filtration systems, quarantine protocols and livefood culturing. You will be well motivated, responsive to change and innovative with good communication skills. The role requires flexibility and commitment. You will be required to work weekends.
