Zoo Keeper - Carnivores and South American Animals

Noah's Ark Zoo Farm

West Section:

Noah's Ark Zoo Farm is looking to recruit a motivated individual to join our committed team of animal keepers on our West Section. This role will play an active role in the daily running of the section across all species.

This is a full-time position working a 40-hour week on a flexible rota (including weekends and bank holidays).

We expect applicants to have knowledge and practical experience of at least some of the species concerned. A strong work ethic, good team work skills and the ability to maintain high standards of hygiene are important to the role.

Species held on West Section: African Lion, Spectacled Bears, Coatis, Tapir, Capybara, Mara, Giant Anteater

Applicants must:

have zoo keeper experience i.e. an internship or previous paid role
be familiar with the care required for a variety of species
be highly motivated
have high standards of hygiene when working
hold an Animal based qualification

Other key aspects of the role:

Assist in the daily management and care of all animals on section.
Deliver top quality visitor experience.
Deliver high quality talks and keeper experiences to the visiting guests.
Drive the company vehicle for collection of resources, e.g. meat.
Assist in the training of an intern.

Ensure effective quality control and continuous improvement in all aspects of the work and responsibilities
Mindful of the visitor experience in all aspects of your work
Demonstrate professionalism towards sensitive and confidential information
A Christian belief is not expected, but willingness to work within the ethos of the business is necessary
Comply with and promote Health and Safety policies and procedures and to undertake recommended Health and Safety training as and when required
Undertake such other duties as are relevant with the position including helping with other sections when required
